Quiet day at the zoo. Big 5 exhibit closed. But we did see a squirrel, a rabbit, penguins and the polar bear. Enjoyed the Halloween 🎃 displays.
Enjoyed a peaceful day on the Illinois River…our last as we meet up with the Mighty Mississippi tomorrow. Our boating friends pushed ahead. Keeping the channel deep enough for barges. Savor the moments & plan ahead.
Sat. Sept 24, 2022. We arrived 8 miles later at the La Grange Lock after 1 1/2 hrs going at idle speed in very dense fog. At 8: 22 a.m…we arrived at the lock. It was a great drill of instrument reading
Traveled by beautiful farm lands, campgrounds riverside, trees on riverbanks and 3 Locks! Our last lock of 3 locks…for the long day…right door got stuck closed and the lead tug boat could not exit…we carefully exited using our best boating skills to
