Admired the Battleship Wisconsin, now a museum. Old time church turned into the Freemason Abbey Restaurant in 1986. We ate dinner there. Nice sunny day here in Norfolk. On to the Chesapeake tomorrow.
Left Coinjock Marina, linear docks this morning. Cruised along beautiful marsh grass. We had 10 bridges and one 2′ lock to navigate. This was our 1st bridge, a swinging bridge. Had to wait 15 min as bridge opened hr and half hr.

Beautiful, serene cruise on the Pungo River Canal as we began early for our big day of 83 mi in 10 hours including crossing the Albermarle Sound. Alligator River leads into the Albermarle Sound and along the way we passed a barge.

Overcast, 65 degrees. Sailboat region for a reason- open water and wind. Pamlico Sound, Neuse River, Pungo River… Wind started up within 30 minutes, splashing over Blue Yonder’s bow frequently. We stayed inside the pilothouse for the day. We have windshield wipers.

Oriental, NC for the night at a linear dock. Time to stretch the legs after three days on the boat. Onslow Beach Bridge – controlled by the Marine Corp- opened on the hour and half hour. Two large vessels both from Singapore.

Delayed 30 minutes for fog. Not a worry. Held for 35 minutes for bridge to open. Fast, speed boat 🚤 cruising by. Marina in distance, racking up the boats. Another marina – same procedure…for dry storage. Anchored at the Camp Lejeune Bay.
