Left the Coinjock Marina linear dock, on our way to Norfolk with 9 Bridges and a rising 2 foot lock to navigate.
Cruised by North Landing Reserve.
First bridge, a swinging bridge…had to wait 15 min. Opens on the hr and half hr.
Two types of lift bridges.
Here is the small 2ft. lock. We were the only vessel, ready, after an hour delay, due to high water, in the lock, to pass under the bridge and enter the lock. There were 2- 3 other boats tied up to each other… so they missed the chance…and waited another hour.
Another type of lift bridge.
Into Norfolk, now, with the air craft carrier.
A vessel from Singapore.
A carnival ship comes into view.
Approaching our marina, Waterside, for a two night stay…right here in Norfolk.
Saying goodby to the cruise ship…and watch…
It pivots right in front of our marina.
Impressive… we can do that, too, using bow and stern thrusters, but this was a tight space. 😳
Thankful for improving weather and making it this far. Just a few more days to Solomons, MD.
