Lake Simcoe, Ontario to Orillia, Ontario July 4th, 2022

We crossed Lake Simcoe on Monday, July 4th to calm seas and arrived in Orillia to stay two nights at Port of Orillia. It can be a treacherous crossing when the winds are against the vessel.
Gorgeous morning. The lake is 20 miles across.
As we arrived we saw a large cruise ship 🚢 approaching us in a narrow, shallow passage with a highway bridge to travel under. No way was it going to clear!
It did! It lowered her pilot house and raised it again once through the bridge.
Good thing we held for 30 minutes. Although It wasn’t easy to maintain position with a 10 knot current pushing us around.
Nice touch in the port.. Time to rest for two days, shop in town and get ready for our last 3 locks on the Trent Severn and enter Georgian Bay with its beautiful scenery.
