Lock 4 on Trent- Severn to Campbellford, Canada Wed. June 29, 2022

Old lock master home. Locks were open 24/7 . Captain would ring a bell 🔔 even at night and the locks would open.

  1. Really interesting how the locks work. Thanks for the infographic in the last post and for showing how it works. All on gravity and levers!
    5 stories! That lock must have taken a long time to fill.

    1. Yes, the double lock was interesting. It was a little less time than two separate locks, because we went from one lock right onto the second lock. It’s all fascinating! The end result was a five story lift in 20 – 30 minutes.
