Kimmswick, MO @ Hoppies to Kaskaskia Lock Oct. 17, 2022

Eight of us boats left traveling southbound for 45 miles. This shows Hoppies as we are leaving- a little ingenuity and demand for a “marina” stop on the River.Luckily it was next to a cute, historic town, Kimmswick, Missouri.

We met along the way plenty of northbound barges. Shoaling has been a huge problem with so little rain.

Barges save us all lots of shipping expenses.
Beautiful scenery along the way.
On our chart plotter, we can see the boats along our way. Notice the barge we are meeting. We are passing on the “two” or starboard to starboard as directed by radio from the tug captain
Seven of the boats cleated up to the lock wall. We anchored right in the same channel. Anchoring is fun for us with our big anchor.
