Ludington, Michigan – Thursday, Aug. 18, 2022

Enjoying several days here in Ludington, MI . Heard the horn blast from the 410 foot Badger leaving port this morning for her daily cruise to Manitowoc, Wisconsin.
Enjoyed the murals in town.

Honoring local Ludington Medal of Honor heroes.
Another town mural.
Trying to keep downtown fresh.
Stopped by the breakwater near the beach. Another calm day at sea.
Visited the Maritime Museum.

Learning more about the Fresnel lighthouse light.
Tragedy on ths Great Lakes, Mon., Nov. 11th, 1940 – Armistice Day where the “perfect storm” wrecked havoc on the Great Lakes, sinking many ships and taking many lives.
Witnessed the 7 p.m. evening return of the Badger.
