Tropical Storm Ophelia went through Georgetown last night with strong winds and rain. We stayed protected in the marina and decided to stay one more night to allow the storm to move further northward Another day to visit town. Old open air
Georgetown is the third oldest town in SC, with Charleston – 1st, and Beaufort – 2nd. Rice, lumber, indigo and cotton made this town very wealthy. There are 60 well – preserved historic homes in Georgetown. Visited the Rice Museum. This drawing
Cruised in overcast skies, slight precipitation for 8 hours at 7 – 9 mph…depending on current. Our navigation chart details the way for us. Noticed Tropical Storm Ophelia approaching. Will stay an extra night at Harborwatch Marina in Georgetown, to stay safe.
