Vidal Bay, Canada to Presque Isle Harbor, MI Tues. July 19, 2022

We left our anchorage in Canada with calm winds and seas and began our journey to cross Lake Huron for the πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ USA… a 56 mile crossing.

Passed the Maintoulin Dolomite Quarry on our port an hour underway in Canada.
Quiet seas. All by ourselves for awhile…
Until John spotted this on the radar…
Our new instruments at the helm John installed during the winter.
Crossing into United States territory.
Windy app helps us track winds.
Passed the US Coast Guard Cutter, SPAR , near our point of entry into Presque Isle Harbor.
Was able to check into US Customs with an app ROAM.
Happy for a smooth crossing of 56 miles on Lake Huron.
An old Lighthouse to bring in sailors to Presque Isle Harbor..our anchorage for the next 2 days.

    1. We enjoyed beautiful Canada πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦ and Canadians are the best! So very welcoming and friendly!
We are happy to have experienced your locks, big towns, small towns along the locks and beautiful scenery. We will not forget the amazing Peterborough Lock and Kirkfield Lift Lock which were the bathtub locks, the busy locks with houseboat drivers during Canada Day weekend, the infamous Big Chute Lock where we met you both and so many locals- so enriched our journey in Canada. We ate delicious fish and chips whenever we could…and Waubic Restaurant near Big Chute was a huge favorite! We went 3 times! Then on to Georgian Bay with the anchorages, the dingy exploring and then continuing to North Channel with its spectacular beauty. We also enjoyed Kingston, Orillia and Midland and other towns for their history, the food shopping, small boutique shops…Yes! We are so thankful we have seen this part of Canada! What a beautiful country and so clean!

      1. Glad you had a wonderful time cruising Canada! Super about your navigation apps and instrument panel!
