Today we crossed the Chesapeake Bay from eastside where Crisfield is located to westside to Solomons. Tomorrow is Annapolis.
It was a quiet, uneventful day motoring Blue Yonder up the Chesapeake Bay. Not many boats at all… in fact two boats. What we did encounter were many Naval airplanes practicing at their base at the Patuxent Naval Air Station. We saw F-18 Hornets, E- 2 Hawkeyes and T-6 Texans circling us.
Here is an E-2 with its radar “Frisbee”.
Arrived at the marina… free bikes to use, nice pool, gift shop, close to West Marine store for boat gear, good restaurant, friendly staff and always friendly boaters. This boating community reminds us of the military community. Make friends fast, helpful, respectful and full of adventure.
Visited the nearby museum to learn about lighthouses, marine life and boating history in the Chesapeake.
Time for dinner. Rode the free marina bikes to the nearby restaurant.
Another day at sea. Tomorrow on to Annapolis, our new home port for the year. So thankful.
You guys rock. Congratulations!!!
