Started early in the Dismal Swamp to catch the 8:30 a.m. bridge and lock.
Saw a Blue Heron 🐦 as John was navigating from the fly bridge.
Made it in time for the 8:30 a.m. bridge and lock opening.
We needed to travel only 10 more miles to make it to Norfolk, VA, our next destination for two nights.
We saw industrial changes as we made our way to Norfolk. Here is the George H. W. Bush aircraft carrier.
Made our way to Waterside Marina in Norfolk. This time for a two night layover to rest. We even visited with old friends from Peachtree City, GA here in VA. Pouring rain began after we arrived, which made for a great time to relax.
