Our anchorage @ Cumberland Island Towhead last night near Paducah, KY.
John spotted a deer swimming. A liitle steam or fog …got a little worse but then quickly passed.Had a choice today- Kentucky Lock or Barkley Lock. Went with the Cumberland River route to Lake Barkley. Lock reopened to boaters today …two days early…What luck. No waiting. Beautiful route.A few smaller tug and barges working. This tug was so cute ! I need one…in my next life.Cumberland River was so beautiful in many places.John taking a turn on the helm. It’s been teamwork.Passing under I – 24… getting closer to Barkley Lock.
Low water mark on the bridge.
Blue Yonder cleared for entry into the lock. Alone ! 57 foot rise.Maintaining our line to the floating bollard or pin as we lock.Blue Yonder snug in her slip for 2 days at Green Turtle Bay. It’s been 4 days at anchorage. Time to relax. Met up with fellow Atlanta friends cruising the loop, too. Last saw each other in May.
