Beautiful clean, clear water.The 7 miles to the Island is accessible by ice roads.A second, smaller fort was strategically better being higher than Fort Mackinaw. Indians were alliés of the British and fought in the woods and therefore were able to hold position and the Island. American Queen Voyages were here. We saw them in Canada at Little Current on Georgiaan Bay.Bikes and horse drawn carriages rule on Mackinac. Beautiful flowers abound here on Mackinaw…

Really great pictures of Mackinaw! So interesting about Fort Holmes, so quaint with the vibe of tourists, cyclists, and flowers, and so historic with the ice bridge! The ice highway with Christmas trees and snowmobiles must be quite a sight!

Yes, Mackinac Island was amazing with its history, clean, clear water, Grand Hotel, fudge shops, restaurants…lots of fun!
